Sydney's Story
Sydney has been an avid runner for the past nine years ranging from simple hobby jogging to competing at the D1 level. She began running high school cross country in 7th grade in Fort Mill, South Carolina and has not looked back since. She went to state three times in South Carolina and even saw herself placing 2nd her freshman year in 2017. After finding success in Fort Mill, she moved to McKinney, Texas and finished her high school career at McKinney North under the fantastic coaching of Jessica Richards. At North, Sydney found herself competing against the best of the best at the Texas cross country state championships two more times. She graduated high school in 2021 and began her running career at Texas Tech University as a Red Raider. During her two year collegiate career she had the amazing opportunity to be on the travel team and truly compete at this high level of running. However, due to various factors, Sydney was not able to finish her collegiate eligibility. With some well deserved time off of running, she is now back to training and loving the sport more than ever! She hopes to run half and full marathons in the future and instill the love she has for running onto the next generation of runners.
Sydney is graduating from Texas Tech in December 2025 with a Bachelors of Science in Biology and Bachelors of General Studies with concentrations in Spanish, Chemistry, and Health Professions. After graduation she plans on applying to PA school.
